Connect your own domain (Elite)

Use your own web address, such as picks.yoursite.com, for your TailMe page. Add a DNS record and it is live with a secure certificate.

On Elite you can use your own domain, such as picks.yoursite.com, for your page. Your tailme.co link keeps working too.

Connect your domain

  1. Go to Settings → Custom domain.
  2. Enter Your domain and choose Connect domain.
  3. Sign in to where you bought your domain (your DNS provider) and add the record shown. It's usually a CNAME record:
    • Name: your subdomain (for example "picks"), or @ for a root domain
    • Value: the address shown in TailMe
  4. Back in TailMe, choose I've added it, check now.

It usually works within minutes, but can take up to a few hours. TailMe also checks again whenever you open the page.

Statuses

  • Waiting for DNS: the record hasn't been found yet
  • Connected: live with a secure certificate
  • Not working: the error message explains what's wrong

Root domains

For a root domain such as yoursite.com, some providers don't allow a CNAME. Use an ALIAS or ANAME record if your provider offers one, or use a subdomain instead.

Using Cloudflare?

If your DNS is on Cloudflare with the orange cloud on, also add the TXT record shown to verify the domain.

Remove a domain

Choose Remove domain in Settings → Custom domain. If your plan changes from Elite, your domain switches off and your page stays on tailme.co.
