How it works

Break-even calculator: the basics

What break-even means

Your break-even win rate is the share of bets you need to win to finish exactly level. Win more often and you profit. Win less often and you lose money over time.

Why -110 needs 52.4%

At -110 you risk $110 to win $100. Winning 52.4% of bets exactly covers the 47.6% you lose. That's why a 50% win rate at -110 loses money.

Odds change everything

At +150 you only need to win 40% to break even. At -200 you need 66.7%. A win rate only makes sense next to the odds it was achieved at.

FAQ

Break-even calculator questions

What win rate do I need to be profitable?

It depends on the odds. At -110 you need 52.38%. At +100 you need 50%. At +150 you need 40%. The formula is 1 ÷ decimal odds.

Is a 55% win rate good?

At -110, yes. 55% is about 2.6 points above break-even, an ROI of roughly 5%, which is very strong over hundreds of bets.

Do pushes count toward my win rate?

No. Pushes return your stake, so leave them out. Win rate is wins ÷ (wins + losses).
